Description:
This is a nice shooter grade Purdey. The previous owner took the gun in to have the chambers pushed out to 2 3/4". Unfortunately said gunsmith also took the liberty of pushing the forcing cones out about 4.5", at 7" from the breach the just before the forcing cone the wall thickness is .030" and .033", after the forcing cone thickness increases. I do not feel this gun is safe, I will sale as-is for $5,000, or I can sleeve it for a total of $7000.
The engraving on the action body is in great condition, the thumb lever and trigger guard engraving is worn. Recutting them would really aid in the guns appearance.
