Description:

WWII RUSSIAN Capture DWM “1920” Dated LUGER Pistol

Made During the Weimar Era with Russian Capture Mark

Here we present a DWM Military & Police Luger Pistol, made in Berlin, Germany in 1920. This pistol is rich with history, having been made during the post-WWI Weimar administration under the imposition of the Treaty of Versailles. It was still in use in Germany through the end of World War II when Germany was invaded from the East by the Soviets. This pistol bears the “1920” manufacture date and Weimar proof marks, as well as a crude “X” on the left side of the receiver. Additionally, the side plate was replaced and force matched with electric pencil, a common theme on Lugers the Russians confiscated and refurbished.

This pistol is marked “DWM” on the toggle and chambered in 9mm Luger. All numbered parts are matching, aside from the magazine and the aforementioned side plate. The pistol has also been refinished, likely at the same time as the side plate was replaced. It comes in an unmarked black leather holster with a tool included, as well as a second, unmarked magazine. Aluminum base plated magazine is marked “fxo” and bears “Eagle/37” WaffenAmt.

The overall condition is very good. The blue finish is 90%. The markings are clear. The grips are unnumbered replacements and are in great shape. The bore shows a lot of use, with somewhat shallow rifling and light oxidation. The action is excellent. Here is a fascinating specimen of the iconic Luger Pistol!
