This Winchester M-64, Serial No. 1145XXX (1941) Cal .30WCF Lever Action - This is a fine example of a an excellent Pre -War Winchester that has survived time and is in very good condition. The wood is about 98% w/o any scratches, dings, gouges or cracks.
It was probably refinished but sometime back. It , to me - is esquisite.It has the diamond set-in wood lay on the butt stock with nice
medium burled walnut set off w/the fine hand checkering and a black factory pistol grip cap. The forearm is equally nice w/o any marks and also set-off w/excellent hand checkering.
The gun bluing is consistant throughout w/only minor edge wear marks. the left side of the receiver has what appears to me to be two factory screw holes that are now capped. Possibly factory ordered w/the gun. It probably had a factory ordered Lyman peep site ordered w/it originally. Thr bottm of the receiver, drop plate and lever has some spotting.
Overal this Winchester M-64 haas to me an NRA Rating of Very Good.
