Description:
The Browning High Power pistol is one of the most famous and revered pistol designs of all time.  First manufactured and accepted into military service in 1935, the pistol quickly earned a reputation as extremely accurate and well made pistol that was reliable and tough.  While most of the other pistols of the time were single-stack 7 to 10 rd designs, the Browning High Power featured a double stack magazine that held 14 rounds of 9mm ammunition which was a significant advantage on the battlefield.  The Browning High Power pistol has been manufactured almost continuously since by FN/Browning until very recently.  Browning is no longer making a High Power model now and there are no plans to restart production.  This particular High Power is serial number 245NW86305 and was manufactured in 1994.  At this point in production the parts for this pistol were being manufactured in Belgium but the gun was assembled in Browning's factory in Portugal.  This High Power has the somewhat scarce "Silver Chrome" factory finish.  The finish on this pistol is in excellent shape overall, rating a solid 97%.  The only deductions are from the previous owner marring the finish around the front and rear sights when they installed the aftermarket sights currently on the gun.  You can see these marks in the close-up photos.  Both the original and aftermarket high-viz sights are included with this pistol.  Both sets of sights show some marring from being driven in and out with a punch.  The blue finish on the slide stop lever, the ambi-safety, and the hammer all looks great.  The gold plated trigger shows some finish wear on the edges and forward face.  The barrel in this High Power has a minty bright bore.  The rifling has sharp lands and grooves and there is no pitting or erosion whatsoever.  The original factory checkered rubber grips are also in excellent condition.  The Browning "Buckmark" medallions look great, and the rubber grips are free from cracks, rips, tears, or repairs.  This Browning comes with 2 factory high capacity magazines, the original plastic box/case with the factory serial numbered label, and the owner's manuals/inserts.  Everything on this pistol works 100% like the day it left the factory.  If you have been looking for one of these Browning High Powers to add to your collection and shoot, this one would be a perfect choice.  It is in excellent condition overall but not so perfect you would feel bad shooting it.  It is also in a scarce and sought-after finish option that is both very attractive and tough, it will be noticed at the range but yet is easy to clean and maintain.
