EUROPEAN Antique Double Barrel PINFIRE Pistol
Here we present an antique Double Barrel Pinfire Pistol, made circa 1850 in Europe. This pistol was made for self-defense for the 19th Century citizen. Its twin barrels are chambered for the 9mm Pinfire cartridge, one of the first self-contained metallic cartridges, and certainly the most initially successful from the 1830s. The barrels hinge down with a press of the lever under the trigger guard.
The overall condition is fair to good. The metal surfaces have a mixed patina. The only markings on the gun are on the trigger guard and are “FI.W.” The grip is in good shape with a stable split on the left. The bores are well-rifled. The right hammer is broken off. The left side of the action is strong.
