Small Early 20th Century Conceal & Carry Revolver
Here we present an Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Safety Hammerless Double-Action Top-Break Revolver, made circa the early 20th Century in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871. The company continued to operate until 1993. This revolver was designed to be small and concealable for self-defense.
This revolver is chambered for 5 shots of .38 S&W and features a trigger safety insert, somewhat like those in striker fired handguns today. The top of the barrel is marked “IVER JOHNSON ARMS & CYCLE WORKS/FITCHBURG, MASS. U.S.A.” followed by ’86, ’87, and ’93 patent dates.
The overall condition is fine. The original nickel finish is 90%. The markings are clear. The original grips are in fine shape. The bore is sharp and clean. The action is strong. Here is a great little early-20th century revolver!
