Description:
This .58 caliber Original - Harper's Ferry - Model 1855 - Musket has a tapered round 1-1/16" to 25/32" x 33-1/2" rifled barrel that is fitted with an adjustable folding leaf rear sight. Stamped in the breech end of the barrel is 1860. The P grade Walnut stock is fitted with iron furniture, including patch box and metal ramrod. There is an inspector's cartouche just below the rear lock bolt. The large military percussion lock with Harper's Ferry 1860, a spread eagle and US stamped on the lock plate, is activated by a single trigger. Please Note: This is possibly a cut down rifle. The bore has deep pitting in the breech area and 8" from the muzzle. Wood is missing along the barrel channel from the front barrel band extending to the nose cap on the left side of the forestock. Length of pull is 13-1/2". Good wood to metal fit - made by the Harper's Ferry. Condition: Good. Stock number P-25-20. Will ship anywhere in the USA, buyer pays freight and insurance.
