2nd year production Winchester Model 1894 Rifle fitted with a 26 inch full octagon barrel, full length tube magazine, steel crescent butt-plate, Lyman tang sight, attractively figured checkered walnut stock with ebony tipped schnabble pistol grip, and matching checkered walnut forearm. This 1895 vintage rifle is in fine original condition, with the barrel and magazine tube retaining 90% of their original blue finish and the frame retaining 60% of its blue finish. The hammer retains 80% of its color case-hardened finish, the lever about 20%, and the butt-plate has lost most all of its finish, having turned a silver/grey patina. The stock and forearm have been lightly sanded and refinished in the past, but do not have any cracks or chips. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and the action functions perfectly with a tight lock-up. The front sight looks original to the gun, but is missing its ivory bead. The rear sight is a later Marbles folding and works perfectly. The Lyman tang sight retains about 50% of its original blue finish and functions perfectly. Would make a great shooter.
