Description:
This is a 98% overall condition model 17-3 revolver with 6 inch barrel - pinned barrel, recessed chambers, 1983 production (stamped inside one grip). Grips on this revolver are original and very unusual. All the sharp edges have been rounded and they are unlike any oversize K frame target grips I have ever seen. This gun came from a widow who advised that her husband had worked for S&W for a time as an area manager in another part of the world in the 1980's and that he special ordered this gun for himself and the grips were custom made by S&W for him. I cannot verify this but we have seen a lot of S&W grips in our day and these sure seem original S&W and not refinished or altered S&W! Best feeling K frame oversize grips we have ever felt in our hand. Bore and chambers are perfect - a sweetheart of a revolver. Wish we had the original box but we do not. Serial range is 3K4164x.
