This model 1840 mounted Artillery sword has an ornate acid etched AMES ,CHICOPEE,MASS with cannons ,eagles E PLURIBUS UNIM, FLORAL.The sword has a steel scabbard with brass hangers. Shark skin grip, single twisted wire , laural leaves on the back edge of the blade. The J.C.W in the brass hand guard is AN UNKNOWN Civil War inspector.
