This is a beutiful, Very High Condition,early Winchester Model 1873 Deluxe, "Fancy Sporting Rifle". Manufactured in 1883. Early third model in .38 caliber. full octagon barrel, full magazine, crescent butt, and a working "Set Trigger". Has the 2.5" rear sight with checkered edges, and the desirable thick base tang sight with Lyman stem. Shaped Ebony inlay, and second model wood finish and fine checkering. Wood to metal fit is perfect. Metal shows some "dust" speckling. Perfect mechanics and excellent bore. Comes with a letter from Decendants of original ower, also , Comes with "Cody Museum" research sheet that states all the features that came with the rifle, and rifle is correct with letter!
