Description:
This is an unusual Webley Pryse type revolver. The retailer is marked on the barrel top London Armoury Co. Bermondsey and 10 Ryder Street, St James, London. Robert and John Adams, the revolver inventor and patentees. It is also stamped China Navigation Co. on the left side of the barrel. These were issued to the guards on the merchant ships for China Navigation Co. for use against the pirates that roamed the South China Sea. Only traces of blue remain in the cylinder flutes. The bore is about very good with nice rifling and the mechanical function is very good and tight. It will chamber 450 Webley, 455 MK ll and 45 Colt as it has the long cylinder. It has British Proof marks but no serial number. There is a 7 and a S on the water table of the frame but no other markings.
