Description:
Our crew chuckled as we dubbed this rifle the "Poor Man's Griffin and Howe." Deluxe FN from the late 40's or early 50's with G&H sidemount, old school Leupold Plainsman scope, G&H pattern sling swivel studs and a leather sling with Winchester Super Grade sling swivels. We like to think these details were installed by Griffin and Howe, or at least a custom gunsmith as capable as they are...but no one was proud enough to put their name on it. 24" barrel, 30-06 caliber Mechanically fine inside and out, with near-flawless blueing, crack-free wood with gorgeous grain. Only minor handling marks on this one. Yeah, I know: the Lyman 48 sight is missing its top tang...BUT WAIT! it is safely tucked-away, in a recess, in the back of the buttstock, under the horn buttplate.
