Description:
Marlin Model 1893 Rifle in .38-55 Winchester. 26" Octagon barrel with full length magazine tube, front and rear time period sights. The barrel has a front blade sight with an ivory bead, though the exposed ivory bead has been broken off, there is ivory remnant showing inside the sight blade. The rear sight is a semi-buckhorn with elevator. The rifles's wood stocks are of America walnut and sports a metal forend cap and a crescent metal butt-plate.Condition: There is good blue remaining on the barrel but is faded along the edges, but the magazine tube is faded to bare metal, yet there is some cased colors remaining to sides of the receiver, lever and bottom tang. The wood is solid with no cracks or loosening but there are the usual scratches, dings and small gouges for its 100 plus years of age. The original lacquer/varnish finish is nonexistent. Bore is in good overall condition with fairly strong lands and grooves and has the some faint greying for its age. Should be a good shooter, especially for those who practice regular and proper cleaning of lead and copper fowling. Weighs 7 1/2 Lbs.; 13" Length of pull; Manufactured in 1900 - Serial Number: 201463
