Colt Model 1851 Navy; SN63961; .36 cal. percussion six-shot revolver made 1856; all numbers match with ‘6391’ inside loading lever, on wedge, an inside grip channel; all markings clear and sharp; good cylinder scene; traces of original blue on bbl.; some original silver remains on trigger guard and back strap; PERFECT tight action and excellent strong bore; authentic period inscription on back strap, ‘John R. Baylor, 2nd Texas Cav.’; Col. John R. Baylor was placed in command of the 2nd Texas Rifles known as the ‘Arizona Brigade’ and the Western Texas frontier Fort Worth ito the north to the Nueces River, south of San Antonio; his orders were to guard the U.S. Army Posts that ran along the frontier an to guard against raids from the Apache and the Comanche; he was a famous Indian fighter; in 1861, Baylor helped organize the 2nd Texas Mounted Rifles and served in the Confederate Army in many battles; much colorful history is available on Baylor, who was described in Tim Kart’s Civil War Tales as ‘The Indian Hating Texan’; antique, no FFL/C&R required for shipping; All items shipped fully insured Priority Mail- -Hand guns $30 --Long guns $45-- Spurs $30-- Knives, Swords & Sabers $30—Grips $20 ;return policy: three days inspection from the date the item is received; full refund of shipping both ways ONLY IF THE ITEM IS MISREPRESENTED.
