Description:
All original, .69 caliber musket dated 1853, widely used during the American Civil War. This model 1842 has definitely seen battle and it shows. The barrel is split towards the end which likely decommissioned this piece. Someone could've gotten a good clubbing with the buttstock as it was broken, and has period wrought iron repair work done to it. One can only speculate. Missing ramrod. Mechanism functions strong.
