Description: This gun has been sold ! This listing qualifies for up to a 15% discount w/the Purchase of A second gun on my gun listings. This Winchester M1917 - 30.06 Ser No. 45783 (abt Nov of 1917) - Is an excellent example of a basicly original type WWI "Doughboy Trench Type Gun w/all of it's original & matching parts. There are no arsenal reworking stamps or cartouches anywhere on it. Although the stock probably was reworked at one time, there are no cracks or unsmoothe areas. This stock has the correct finger grooves (Not all do), the butt plate has wear and rub marks but has aged nicely w/a dark patina. The bluing is all original w/only wear on the bent bolt arm w/a "W" on the underneath and the "Flamiing Bomb" on the top of the Bolt. The bottom plate has some lite normal wear but all of it's bluing. The bore has a mirror like finish w/nice distinct twisting - it measures "1". The receiver has 97% plus of bluing and is consistant w/the Sight Elevation which operates as normal. The chamber is clean. There is no pitting anywhere on the receiver. The action is very smooth & functions properly. The front sight has the correct serated edges and is a "W". Again all parts are matching and correct. I would rate the this Win M1917, for it's age - an NRA Very Good.
