imported into the U.S.A. about 1850.The name, CAPT. LEVI ENGLISH is carved in the stock, and MOUNTED RANGERS, 1855 is also carved in the wood. The other side is carved, MOUNTED RANGERS...1855,
In 1855 levi was appointed captain of the rangers in bexar county.
