Winchester Model 1876 45-60
From one of our newest customers please find this Winchester Model 1876 45-60 rifle. The rifle bears serial # 3294. Cody records indicate the rifle was received in the warehouse on Sept 14, 1878 and shipped out on June 19, 1880. The Octagonal barrel is 28 inches long, with full length magazine and set trigger. Rifle is fitted with a tang peep rear sight. The rifling is good, strong lands and grooves but there is some pitting throughout the length of the bore. Still quite shootable. Top of barrel is marked in two lines Winchester Repeating Arms, New Haven, CT second line reads Kings Improvement-Patented-March 29, 1866. October 16, 1860. Thumbprint dust cover on this rifle. Action is smooth and no issues with timing. Rifle has been completely re-blued at some point. The rifles stock pieces have been sanded and refinished. Provision for cleaning rod is made in crescent butt plate.
The rifle is heavy. Shipping will be $27.00 USPS Priority Mail if east of the Mississippi River, West will be $32.00, West Coast states $42.00. Alaska and Hawaii will need a quote.
