SUPERB NAPOLEON III PERCUSSION BOXLOCK TURN BARREL DAMASCUS BOOT PISTOLS SIGNED BRUNEEL A LYON CA. 1850’S. Large ornate pair measuring 13” o/a with .47 caliber multi groove rifled Damascus octagon barrels. Engraved box lock side hammer actions with retractable triggers. Ebony grips with gold monogram escutcheons and percussion cap but traps with silver “SHELL” motif lids. Tops of both locks engraved in floral spray banners “BRUNEEL A LYONS”. Left side of barrels stamped at the breeches with Liege proofs and the undersides with August Francotte’s “CROWN/AF” barrel proofs. Finest quality overall and in the largest size seen of this type of pistols which are usually quite small pocket size. Excellent condition with most of the color case hardening on the frames and Damascus finish on the barrels. Grips in excellent condition. Perfect working order and fine bores. Pistols of this type in this size are quite scarce and rarely of this high quality.
