FRENCH CHASSEPOT MODEL 1866 NEEDLE FIRE 11 MM. INFANTRY RIFLE DATED 1869. 52” o/a with 32” barrel dated 1869. Receiver marked “MANUFACTURE IMPERIALE/MUTZIG” and “MLE 1866”. All matching and original Franco-Prussian War classic still in original needle fire and not the later conversion to center fire. Very good overall with good markings and good inspection cartouche on the stock. Working order and very good bore. Partial original needle still present within the steel bolt housing. These are usually missing as they were very thin and broke ore corroded easily.
