Description:
Model 1873 Winchester Saddle Ring Carbine-Piece of history. This old rifle has seen a lot of use and could probably tell a lot of stories. Early gun-with small sight and brass attachments-. Bore is frosty but still has grooves. Butt plate is original with the correct operating sliding cover. Heavy patina but no heavy pitting etc. This one appears to be all original parts. Missing dust cover but those are available. Very solid mechanically, desirable. 44/40 caliber with the original ring etc. Would make great display piece or cowboy carry gun. It came from and old time ranch in Oregon. If you want a 73 without paying $2500-$3500 this is the one. Due to its age, please have a gunsmith check it out before firing it which should be done with any old firearm.
