#156371, Simson - Suhl: An older and proper Suhl made Simson that came out of the same factory (I was there in 1975) and is exactly like the Gebruder Merkel Model 8 and is in the same serial number sequence, A 12 Bore Boxlock SxS Made in 1951 with 28" Special Gewehrlaufstahl Solid Rib Extractor barrels at .725 .009" & .018" (Imp.Cyl. & Mod.), Original 2 3/4" chambers, Rib extension cross bolt, Scalloped action back, Double triggers, Splinter forend with a Deeley & Edge release, Pistol grip stock at 14 1/2 x 1 3/4 x 2 3/4" over the factory buttplate with the Simson logo, Neutral stock for the right or left hand, No sling eyes, 6 lbs. 10 oz., No engraving, The original barrel blue is at 96%, The original case colors at 70%, The stock finish remains at 94%, The checkering is at 100%, The bores are excellent plus, It has 4 locking screws on key screws, It is smack on the face, There are surface checks at the head of the stock back of the scallops on the back side of the receiver. Here is a true Suhl made gun that is exactly like the Merkel Model 8 that represents a better time-proven system than the current pieces after 2001 that cost 3 times more and are not the same mechanical gun.
