It is fitted with a 6 inch pinned barrel. The four screw frame was only produced in the first year of production. It has the diamond center wrap around grips. The selector lever on the hammer works smoothly. The action is very crisp. The original bluing would rate a 99% overall condition. There is a slight muzzle blue loss on the left side. The grips would also rate the same. These grips are really very nice!. The chambers have the inserts to allow shooting 22 Short, Long And Long Rifle rim fire cartridges. The 22 Jet is a center fire cartridge. The hammer selector allows the hammer to strike the center fire firing pin or the rim fire firing pin. This Smith & Wesson was produced from 1961 to 1974 with a total of 14,956 pistols produced. This is a low production number for Smith & Wesson. After the first year, the frame is a three screw style frame marked 53-2. I have a full box of 22 Jet ammunition for this gun that will go with it. These pistols are very collectable.
