Description:
Restored LC Smith 12 gauge field grade. 30" barrels choked IM/IM, 2 3/4" chambers, 14.25" LOP, 1 5/8" DAC, 7lbs 12 oz, single brass sighting bead, three position safety, and original buttplate. This gun has been fully restored with rust blued barrels, bone charcoal case colors, hot blued furniture, and hand rubbed oil stocks. This gun locks up tight and operates perfectly. Screw slots are all either excellent or perfect. The stocks are solid and the checkering is sharp. The area behind the lockplates has been inletted and glass bedded to help prevent stock cracking that is so common in old sidelocks. There is some minor pin pricking visible under the new barrel bluing. The bores show a dull shine with "scaling" throughout the length of the bores, and some patches of shallow pin pricking. Certainly nothing that would impact its shooting, but it is not as pretty and we would like to see. Those cosmetics have discounted the price accordingly. I will let the hi rez photos taken in natural light tell the rest of the story. (Photo #14 seems to show pitting on the trigger guard tang but that is just dust) This would be the ideal rainy day gun to take afield or perhaps the entry level vintage double for the collector getting started.  Feel free to ask any questions you may have. 3 day non-firing, non-disassembly inspection period runs from receipt by your FFL. Idaho residents add 6% sales tax. Insured Priority Mail shipping to conus $45.
