For the guy who wants a really nice moderately shooter that has been there. Here's an opportunity to have that fun at the range. Surprisingly, while the blued finish remaining on this very early gun, only about 55%. There are no rust spots, pits, dings or rub marks. The balance is a soft blue gray patina. The loss of finish seems to be from extensive holster wear and handling. All parts match. The slide, frame and barrel block have the proper Nazi Proofs and inspector's stamp.
The black plastic grip is proper and almost flawless, no chips or splits anywhere. However, the right panel does have the name "Dan" very lightly scratched into it.
The grip screw is perfect. The interior of the receiver shows little use. The barrel is a testimony to that. The bore is sunshine bright with razor sharp rifling. Not a spot of frosting. The gun comes with one correct P-38 magazine. This, is one "that has been there and done that". I bet it could tell one helluva war story. And would be a lot of fun on the range. Only...... $545.
