Description:
Offered for sale is an assemblage that consists of: Carcano Model 1938 Cavalry Carbine chambered in 7.35 mm Carcano with sling, three original ammunition pouches, ten en bloc clips, oiler and screw driver. All serial numbers match. The bore is excellent, bright and shiny with strong rifling. The action functions well. The Model 1938 replaced the Model 1891 Calvary carbine chambered in 6.5x52 mm.  Because so many 6.5 mm weapons were in service at the beginning of WWII, in 1940 the Italian military thought it wise to standardize to that caliber.  Carbines made after 1940 were chambered in the 6.5 mm and designated Model 91/38. Model 38 Cavalry Carbines were manufactured for only a couple of years. Those in service were stamped on the butt stock with the 7.35 mm designation to avoid the confusion of using the wrong ammunition. This gun is C&R eligible. Payment is by cashiers check or money order. Buyer pays actual cost of shipping and insurance. No sales to CA, NJ, NYC. Please contact me with any questions.
