The Luger became and remained the iconic sidearm of Germany in both World Wars. This one bears the acceptance marks and proofs of the Imperial German military on the right side of the frame. It is dated “1918” on the top of the chamber. However, its history did not stop there. This was very clearly kept in service by any means necessary long beyond 1918. The barrel was once that of an Artillery model. It has been mounted on this gun, shortened, the tangent rear sight removed, and a shop created front sight fastened on. The safety lever has been lost or removed, and the gap in the grip filled. Several different serial numbers are represented. This pistol comes in a worn black leather “(19)43” dated Nazi German holster. The holster is also marked “Eagle/WaA198” and “dla/43”. The holster has likewise been kept in service with additional stitching along the muzzle-end and a replacement fastening strap. It comes with a total of 4 magazines, two of which are HAENEL/SCHMEISSER PATENT” marked. The overall condition is good. There is original finish mixed with later finishes. Markings are clear. Grips are quite worn but remain solid. The bore is clean with good rifling. The action is strong. This Luger saw the end of World War I, the Weimar Republic, World War II, and who knows what else. If only it could speak. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 3-3/4 inches. Caliber: 9mm Luger Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING.
