Description:
The Colt 1st Model New Line Revolvers were made from 1873 to 1876. The 5-shot revolvers were fitted with either a 1 3/4, 2 1/4, or 4 inch barrel, spur trigger only, short cylinder flutes, cylinder stop slots cut into the exterior of the cylinder, were full nickel or blue/color case hardened finished, and were chambered in .22, .30, .32, .38, or .41 Rimfire. This 1875 vintage New Line is as described and is fitted with a 2 1/4 inch barrel, is blue/color case-hardened finished, and is chambered in .41 RF. The gun is in excellent original condition, retaining 70-80% of its original blue, with most loss due to flaking. The frame retains 98% of its original color case hardened finish, with some very minor thinning on the backstrap. The grips are in excellent condition, retaining most all of their original finish, with assorted minor handling marks. The bore is bright, with sharp rifling, though there are a couple of areas of spotting. The action functions as new and it has a tight lock-up. All screw-heads are un-molested. It is all numbers matching, frame to barrel and cylinder. Antique Firearm, no FFL required. This is the nicest big bore New Line I have ever seen, rare to find one this clean with the blue/color case-hardened finish.
