Description:
A well used CROCKETT FINE SILVER SINGLE MOUNTED HAND ENGRAVED "FRONTIER" PARADE STYLE SPURS & STRAPS Circa 1930's (Crockett Style 260 in catalog #12 shown on page 14).  These old spurs are an example of the quality, functional durability and artistic styling produced by Oscar Crockett.  The spurs are 6 1/2" in overall length with a 3 1/2" depth and a heel band spread of 3 3/8" at the boot entry point.  The heel band is 3/4" wide with stationary upturned strap buttons, and have the chap guards removed. They have a 12 point dull grinder wheel rowel that is 2" in diameter.  The onside surface of each spur carries a hand engraved, fine silver, full overlay with a 1 1/2" relieved, hand engraved silver concha traversing the entire length of the spur including strap button, heel band, shank, and rowel pin cover.  The well used old period straps are plain batwing style.  They are strong and pliable and we assume them to be original.  The familiar CROCKETT mark is struck on the offside heel band surface just beneath the upturned strap button in the 2nd position. They have not been cleaned or polished and the silver does carry some tarnish.  These spurs would be splendid addition to any working cowboy collection, display or décor or they could give a century of use.  We always answer questions and entertain offers.
