Description:
SN 2035 built by P. Stevens (1876 to 1878). These revolvers started life as a pin fire model 1868 and were modified to take the 9.4mm center-fire cartridge for reference see page 13-14 of the Dutch Luger by Martens and DeVries. These solid frame revolvers have a loading gate and no ejector. This piece were hand made by a number of Dutch makers. There were a few thousand built in the first years followed by an annual production of approx. 400 per year. This piece shows a bright excellent 9.4 mm bore., all matching numbers and an 1881 issue date and a unit or issue marking IV 204. Excellent original finish on the metal and wood. The grips are matching and show traces of the external proofs. This piece rides in an original Dutch holster. The interior of the flap show a 08 over B756. The reverse of the body shows a modified belt loop. The front shows the stiching marks where the combination ejection rod/screw driver was previously mounted. A scarce Dutch military revolver.
