Description: Hammerless Sidelocks - Churchill Imperial Grade Sidelock Ejector 16 Gauge! This extremely rare gun will become your favorite go to gun. Light but well balanced it handles like it is an extension of yourself. One could spend a 100K or more on a new English double and not achieve the quality and craftsmanship of to me what is a true dream double. Featuring iconic Churchill “XXV barrels this sixteen weighs in at 5 lbs. 10.5 oz. and is choked perfectly for birds. Built between the wars around 1930 this gun was built at the pinnacle of English gun making. *Note the English violin style case. It is marked in the brass "England" and next to that embossed "Feather weight." We usually see Boss small bores in these cases. I really like them. The top of the case is embossed "Mrs. W.E. Carlin." I did a quick search on line and found there was a W.E. Carlin in NY in 1905 that coauthored a book called "Guns, ammunition, and tackle 1904." *** Note: To see this gun with high resolution photos and a zoom-in feature, go to the vintagedoubles main site and search for the gun ID: 3545 or browse the main site to see our full gun collection. |
