Description:
These 44 caliber revolvers were purchased by the U.S. Army during the Civil War. This one is serial number 156 and is all original. It retains over 50% of the original blue finish. The bore and mechanical function are both excellent. The wood grips retain 95% of the original varnish. All of the marking are sharp and crisp. There is a small nick on both of the grip heels. This is a 6 shot with a 7.5” barrel. 536 of these were purchased by the U.S. Army and issued to the 2nd and 3rd regiments of the Michigan Calvary during the Civil War. Only 700 were made from 1861 to 1862.
