Description:
SOLD PENDING FUNDS: This Winchester M1 Carbine is an early production "1st Block" gun serial # 1142829. It was produced in 1943 and is in .30 Carbine caliber with an 18" barrel. The rear sight is the correct type I "S" marked 2 position aperture flip sight. The receiver barrel and stock are all clearly marked with a "W" as well as the small parts including the upper early 2 rivet handguard with the "W" on the underneath side. The only thing that is not correct is that the Winchester stock is a later Type III style low wood with the ordnance wheel on the right side and no Inspectors cartouche (WRA over GHD) and an oval cut for the oiler/sling. The bolt is the correct early flat/blued style. The bore is excellent and mechanics work perfectly and the condition is rated at 95-97% all original. This carbine comes with the oiler, sling and correct GI magazine still in the cosmoline/wrap (not shown). This would make a great addition to any US Military collection.
