This Winchester carbine is the early second block production carbine. The carbine's serial number is 5687697. This Winchester is all correct for the serial range and production date range. This gun has not been messed with since it left the factory. This is a veteran's take home carbine that I actually have the details of who this carbine was issued to. This firearm shows service use and wear. There is no cracks or wood damage on this stock or hand guard. The hand guard has the Winchester "Bull Nose" on the front. The flat bolt has all the correct Winchester parts. This bolt retains most of the original bluing. The bore is bright and sharp. The barrel finish shows wear. The stock has the correct Winchester inspection stamp. The oiler and magazine is also Winchester coded. All the internal parts have the correct Winchester stamping. The rear sight shows no sign of ever being replaced or removed. The type two barrel band also shows wear that it always has been with this barrel. This is a 100% right Winchester Carbine with the uncommon original type two barrel band. Knowing who carried this carbine is also a big plus for the collector! There are several Winchester carbines for sale out there, however, very few original as issued unaltered Winchesters exist today! This is one of them!
