Description:
F.LLI Piotti Piuma BSEE Boxlock Ejector in 20 Gauge. 28" chopper lump barrels with a matted, tapered solid rib and a single front brass bead sight, and fixed chokes, .011" & .018" (I.C & Mod.). The Anson & Deeley boxlock action features a color cased, scalloped frame with scroll, rosette, wildlife scene engraving with brilliant gold inlays of a mallard and a pheasant in flight. Engraving by G. Ferraglio. The French walnut, straight grip stock has rich contrasting dark amber color and bold streaks of deep dark figure racing through the grain, and the sleek wraparound, extended checkering and full face butt checkering is well executed. The small beavertail forend with matching figure and wraparound checkering also has color cased furniture and an Anson push button release. Metal condition: The cased color action is in very good condition with a protection of a clear coat. The blued triggers and trigger-guard are in very good condition. At first glance the barrel blue looks fine, however up close with good lighting, the barrel blue has more of an appearance of a darkened grey metal with blue streaks. It's our guess that the blued barrels were put away wet and developed a faint flim of rust all over, which was wiped away later with some kind of cleaner, or worst, rust remover. Unfortunately, most of the bluing was removed in the process, leaving the blue streaks. Wood condition: Very good overall but there are some issues. There are a few small scratches and small dings along the sides and comb of stock and a couple on the forend, however, there are numerous small dings along the belly of the butt-stock between the checkering and the toe.
