Description:
We have here a nicely done after market plated and engraved Colt Frontier Six Shooter with custom ivory grips. Caliber .44-40. 4 3/4 inch barrel. Frame and barrel engraved and nickel plated. Cylinder, trigger, and hammer are gold plated. Cylinder is engraved as well. Ivory grips with a silver inlaid grizzly bear in the right grip. Very good shiny bore with a small amount of pitting. Action locks up tight. There is some cylinder play until action is cocked which is normal for this design. This revolver has been carried and has some holster wear. I have tested fired it and it is a good shooter. Comes with Colt Letter showing it was shipped a standard blue finish gun with rubber grips to Trisch Hardware in Denver in March of 1898. I wish I knew the rest of it's provenance as I feel sure it is interesting! Checks accepted. Credit cards add 3%. Shipping and insurance $50. I will require shipping to an FFL even though it is an antique as it is a good working order revolver in a current caliber. C&R FFL is fine.
