“British Bull-Dog” Forehand & Wadsworth Revolver
19th Century Conceal Carry Revolver
Here we present an antique Forehand & Wadsworth “BRITISH BULL-DOG” .38 Double Action Revolver, made circa 1890 in Worchester, Massachusetts. The revolver was a small, well-built, self-defense weapon, ideal for potent conceal and carry in the closing decades of the tumultuous 19th Century. It was made by the sons-in-law of Ethan Allen, the successful firearms inventor and manufacturer from the 1830s. This revolver features a double/single action trigger and six shots of .38. This top strap is marked “BRITISH/BULL-DOG”.
The overall condition of this revolver is very fine. The original nickel finish is 92%. The markings are clear and legible. The original hard rubber grips show almost no signs of wear. The bore is clean and sharp. The action on this revolver is excellent.
