This is a beautiful Smith & Wesson Model 29-2. This N-frame S&W is one of the American gunmaking firm's all time classics. Introduced in 1955, The Model 29 was the first regular production .44 Magnum caliber revolver. It quickly earned a reputation for being extremely well-built, accurate, and powerful. This Model 29 features an 8 & 3/8ths inches barrel, and target grips, hammer, and trigger. This Smith & Wesson is in excellent condition. The original factory gloss blue finish is bright and clean, with only some small handling marks and a very faint turn line on the cylinder. The bore is minty and bright. The rifling still has sharp lands and grooves, and zero pitting or erosion. The cylinder bores are equally as nice. The case colored trigger and hammer still show lots of color and do not show any wear or corrosion. The factory target grips are in excellent condition as well. They are not numbered which is correct for this vintage, but they are dated "12 80" for December of 1980 which is just right for a revolver made in early 1981. The grips still have sharp checkering and do not show any wear or marring. Everything on this Model 29-2 works 100% like the day it left the factory. If you have been looking for a super clean Model 29 .44 Magnum Smith & Wesson this pistol would be a perfect choice. Every serious gun collection should have one of these iconic revolvers.
