German Proofed Bull Dog Style Revolver
Here we present a German Pocket Revolver in 8mm, made circa 1900. It bears German “Crown/U” proof marks on both the frame and cylinder. The size, shape and overall design remind one of the Forehand & Wadsworth “British Bull-Dog” Revolver, made in the late 1800s. There is a trigger block safety on the left side of the revolver, which is a very interesting feature. It would have been a great little firearm to put in your pocket for self-defense in the tumultuous early 20th Century.
The overall condition is fine. The original blue of this revolver is about 75%. There are no visible markings. The original wood grips are in very fair shape, showing very little wear. The bore is sharp and clean. The action on this revolver is excellent.
