Description:
This Merkel 303E sidelock ejector 12 ga is an exceptional example from when Merkel produced some of their finest over and under shotguns. The execution of the engraving is outstanding and the quality of the wood on this shotgun is spectacular. It was proofed 1956.
The 28" Bohler Antinit steel barrels have excellent bores and are choked F/M. It has vent rib with an ivory front bead.
The stock LOP is 14 1/2" from the single selective trigger to the Merkel horn buttplate.
Full game scene engraving covers the hand detachable sidelocks with well executed scroll covering the balance of the action. The trigger is an original Merkel trigger.
The overall condition of the gun is very good. The bluing would rate 98% with some very slight thinning near the muzzles.
