Made in 1873 for the 2nd Earl of Durham. This rifle was featured in an article in the Winter 2010 issue of the Double Gun Journal. Rifle is in very good condition. 29 in. Damascus barrrels with lovely pattern throughout with very good bores and original sights. Back action island locks. LOP= 14 3/8in. to a nicely wrought steel butt plate with the powder charge engraved thereon. 9lbs. 10oz. Much remaining case colors on locks, action, and Jones under lever. Approx. 60% fine scroll engraving. Beautifluly grained stock wood. Overall a beautiful, rare, and elegant rifle made by one of Great Britians premier makers. Dies and brass go with rifle.
