Description:
24" tapered round barrel with full-band detented-hooded front sight, muzzle porting, full-band swivel base, recoil lug, quarter rib and 1 standing express sight, gold-inlaid for 100 yards. Fully figured California English walnut stock by Keith Heppler with ebony forend tip, classic borderless point-pattern checkering wrapping fully under the forend and over the wrist, trapdoor steel pistol grip cap, beaded cheekpiece, inletted rear swivel stud and solid red widow's-peaked Silvers-type recoil pad. Custom-built magnum-length Model 70-style controlled-feed action by Peter Noreen with 5-panel checkered bolt knob, jeweled bolt and follower, double squarebridge receiver rings, blind-screw cloverleaf tang, checkered solid bolt stop, Model 70-type trigger and safety, drop-box magazine with hinged straddle floorplate and release inside triggerguard. Leupold Vari-X III 1.5-5x matte-finish scope with fine duplex reticle on Talley quick-detachable rings fitted directly to squarebridge receiver dovetails without separate bases. Extensively engraved by Richard Boucher with foliate scroll on action, bottom metal, grip cap, scope rings, barrel, sights, etc., and with a charging elephant inlaid in gold on the floorplate.
