Description:
Parker VHE 20 Gauge Side-by-Side
SKEET GUN

General Specs: Parker, Year 1941, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 10oz, SxS
Serial Number: 242081

In the world of collecting and shooting Parker shotguns, the VH 20ga. is a relatively common gun with over 10,000 produced, and they can be acquired for a modest sum of money.  However, only 1700 or so had ejectors, so the VHE is more desirable.  Some of the Parker VHE 20ga. guns were produced with rare and desirable features that make them quite rare in the collecting world and therefore much more valuable.  The other key factor in determining desirability and therefore value, is factory original condition.  There are few Parker guns to be found that have not been refinished or altered in some significant way.  This Remington made Parker VHE 20ga., sn242081 made in 1941, is one of the very rare and desirable Parkers as it was special ordered with a factory English style stock with checkered butt, beavertail forend, and ejectors.  Only 163 Parker VH grade guns were made with beavertail forends IN ALL GAUGES, less than 1/5 of them 20ga. guns, or about 33 guns total.  Only about 500 had straight stocks, and only about 1700 had ejectors.  How many had a combination of straight stock, beavertail, and ejectors is anybody’s guess, but certainly fewer than 25 or so.  That makes this a very rare Parker.  Now figure in that this gun retains 95% vivid factory case color, 99% dark factory barrel and trigger guard blue, and beautifully figured wood that Remington Parkers are known for, and you have quite a valuable and desirable Parker.  The only thing altered on the gun is that the wood finish had cloth imprinted into it, likely as a result of being in a case in a hot trunk, so we restored the finish with a hand-rubbed oil finish.  Also the original IC/M chokes were altered to SK1/SK2.  That makes sense as the gun is essentially a Parker Skeet gun in configuration, with the exception of double triggers.  What a great upland or clays gun we have here!  The gun is in perfect mechanical condition, with strong well-timed ejectors, perfect screws and checkering, mirror bores, and the most desirable 28” Vulcan Steel barrels.  This is the kind of Parker shooters and collectors are always hoping to find.  Offered at a great price for the valuable options and condition, you are not likely to see another like it in the next 10 years.  Don’t hesitate or she will be in somebody else’s gun safe and not yours.  Thanks for looking!
