Description:
i have decided to sell my 1910 Parker VH 20-gauge 0 frame two-barrel set. This gun is not a safe queen and shows honest wear from hunting the Grouse and Woodcock woods of Vermont. When I purchased it, I was told that it was ordered by a Dr. in Rutland, Vt in 1910. The person I purchased it from was the second caretaker of the gun and it was still in Vermont. The Parker Letter on the gun verifies this as it shows a Dr. P.M. Williams of Rutland, Vermont ordered the gun on July 13, 1910. It originally was equipped with 28” barrels choked Cylinder/Modified. Sometime after 1926 a set of 26” barrels were added to the gun. The letter does not mention the 26” barrels but it is obviously factory work. All serial numbers match, the for-end lugs are stamped 1 and 2, each barrel has its own for end and the added 26” barrel for end is marked 2. Other than the second set of barrels the gun matches the letter perfectly. It has a 13 ½” LOP, 1 5/8” DAC and a 2 ¾” DAH. The LOP is perfect for me with a hunting jacket on. The chokes on the original 28” barrels measure right .004 and left .018. The 26” barrels measure right .008 and left .013 and both barrels ring nicely. This is an untouched Parker small bore and is 100% original. No cracks or severe gouges in the wood, though it does show the numerous surfaces marks from hunting. The screws look good and the barrels are bright and shiny. The original barrel bluing is nice with fading at the carry points and one smudge in the 28” barrels about the size of a quarter. The 28" barrels are tight on face with the for-en on and off, and the 26" barrels are tight with the for-end on an just a tad loose with it off. Just an honest bird gun ready for the next 100 years. I have not seen many 20-gauge 0 frame two barrel sets for sale. The gun swings perfectly for those close in thick cover shots. I wish these old Parker's could talk! I would love to here the hunting stories that could be told! Attached Thumbnails
