Description:
This is a S&W Model 3 Russian Third Model 44 S&W with ivory grips, nickel finish and with a 6.5” barrel. The serial number is 50553 and has matching assembly numbers. The mechanical function is very good, crisp and tight. The bore is good plus and shiny with good rifling and a few areas of minor corrosion. The grips fit ok with some shrinkage and have a beautiful mellow ivory color. It retains 70% nickel finish. The trigger guard spur was removed long ago. These were made from 1874-1878 and this was likely made in 1877.
