Description:
This 1908 vintage Savage Model 99 Short Rifle is fitted with a 22 inch round barrel, straight grip stock, steel shotgun butt-plate, Lyman tang sight with lock, takedown configuration, and chambered in .303 Savage. The rifle is in excellent original condition with the barrel retaining 98% of its original blue finish, the frame about 85%, and the butt-plate 70%. The lever retains 80% of its original color case-hardened finish and the screw-heads are un-molested. The bore is bright, with sharp rifling and the action functions perfectly. The stock and forearm retain most of their original finish, with assorted handling marks, and a couple of slivers missing on the forearm.
