Beautiful Highly Engraved Custom Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, SN#1214, .243 cal., 26'' blue barrel is marked G.B. Krannich (maker), as well as ''Vilge Vanke'' (possibly the original owner). The receiver, trigger guard, and floorplate are coin finished and engraved in nearly full coverage. Detailed engraving at first glance appears to be of a scroll pattern. Closer examination reveals a dragon on the floorplate, trigger guard, and receiver ring. Rear portion of the receiver with a phoenix type creature surrounded by scroll engraving. The bolt body is jeweled with a bright handle and blued shroud. Bolt release has a combination blue and jeweled finish. Stock is of high grade wood and is finely checkered and carved at the forend and pistol grip. Stock is fitted with a brown rubber Pachmayr recoil pad and sling swivel studs. Rifle is also topped with a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5x10 scope with a duplex reticle on a quick-release Paul Jaeger scope mount. In excellent overall condition. Metal retains approx. 99%+ blue finish. Stock with a few very small handling marks, mainly to the right side near the receiver; checkering and carving is free of any blemishes. Smooth crisp action and bright bore.
