Description:
Custom built early 19th century flintlock pistol. Fashioned after a post trader’s sidearm. Built by master riflesmith Tom Hardy, Billings, Montana. Pistol is .60 caliber smooth bored to accommodate both shot and patched round ball. Pistol is fullstocked in premium curly maple with brass furniture. There is silver wire inlay in the grip that matches the engraving on the hammer which is very nice touch. The brass thumbpiece has the initials "MB" inscribed. Has a Siler trigger and a small Siler flint lock. Barrel is browned as was common for a post factor pistol; faceted flats at the breech tapered and terminating to round at the juncture of two wedding bands like a northwest trade gun of the early fur trade period.
