Description:
Up for sale today is a Short Magazine Lee-Enfield No. 5 Mk. I serial no. P7723 chambered in caliber .303 British. This excellent original Jungle Carbine shows all of the features of an original correct example, namely the lightening scallops on the receiver and the lightening cuts on the barrel, under the upper handguard. The rifle was assembled by Royal Ordinance Factory Fazakerley in August of 1945. It shows an excellent bore, mismatched bolt, British proof marks, and finish wear consistent with the life of a hard-used fighting rifle. An excellent piece of history and a great carbine as well.
